Scheduled
Dear Customer,

Following on from our previous announcements around our DH01 upgrade and replacement project, we have now reached an important milestone, where we are able to commission the new A Feed infrastructure in the Data Hall.

SERVICE IMPACT
LOSS OF FEED Due to the nature of the works being undertaken, whereby we have to connect to the newly installed infrastructure, it is necessary that we need to shut down parts of the Power Network (Power Distribution Boards in the Data Hall to provide power to Racks) to complete these works safely.
Pulsant racks are typically installed with Dual supplies, so only the A Feed will be affected by these works. The B Feed will remain unaffected and protected throughout these essential maintenance works. So only a reduction is resilience will be seen.

Pulsant is requesting that all potentially affected customers ensure that power in their rack(s) have been properly configured, so that a loss of one feed, will not impact their services.
If you are unsure of connectivity, please contact Pulsant via a helpdesk ticket, so that we can confirm for you with regards to mitigating any impact or risk to your services

This is an advisory notice to inform our customers that there will be reduced resilience (Loss of one feed) whilst the power modification works are undertaken. We are unable to complete this without any service impact. Any single supply racks will be affected, so we need to provision for this.
To mitigate risk further, this work is being carried out over several days, however only one Distribution Board is being worked on, during that day. Details are noted below with regards to the proposed plan

WHY
This forms part of the on-going project where we are upgrading and replacement critical infrastructure that supplies services to our DH01 in our South London facility.
This is another milestone being reached in commissioning and making operational the new A Feed infrastructure.
We will be working on one Distribution Board per day and will notify customers when works are due to start and when they have been completed on that specific unit, so that we minimise the time of reduced resilience

We have provisioned a maintenance window of up to 6 hours each day to allow us an adequate time window to complete all the necessary works, testing and finally commissioning to an operational state
Pulsant has been preparing extensively with our contractor for these essential change over works.
We will have a number of different contractors and Pulsant personnel on site including expert contractors to support our Generators, UPS devices and electrical infrastructure during this transition.

Works are expected to be non-service affecting as customers will only see a reduced resilience during this transition period. This maintenance does involve changes to power source to the A Feed, hence an At-Risk notification is being sent out.

WHEN
Pulsant confirm that the maintenance window is noted below and the associated At-Risk period:

Thursday 10th October 2019 - PDU 3A Board commencing at 09:00BST and being completed by 15:00BST.

To mitigate risk and impact, Pulsant have scheduled for these works to be carried out during the working day.
A further broadcast notification will be sent out in due course, when we have completed the installation and testing of the new UPS A feed infrastructure and transfer back accordingly.

The At Risk window will be kept to an absolute minimum and full site resilience and protection at the earliest opportunity.

Pulsant thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support

Regards,
Pulsant Support Team
